Can’t find your Key Finder?

Dashing Parcels Key Finder
Key Finders

I was so sad earlier this week. I went to clip my keys back onto my Key Finder and what did I find? Nothing! I lost my Key Finder! At least my keys weren’t on it when it went missing my friend said. Still…I was a bit sad. I know that I have a stock of other ones I could choose from…but that was my first and my favorite.

When I returned home guess what I found on the kitchen table? Yes, you guessed correctly…my Key Finder! My husband had found it on the driveway. Thankfully before one of us drove over it. I have to assume that when I unclipped my keys from my purse I accidentally unclipped the whole thing and dropped my Key Finder as I got into my vehicle!

So all of you ladies with jewels dangling from your purses…don’t do what I did…learn from my mistake…so you can find your Key Finders!

The Valentine

THE VALENTINE.

The rose is red, the violet’s blue,
The honey’s sweet, and so are you.
Thou art my love, and I am thine;
I drew thee to my Valentine:
The lot was cast, and then I drew,
And fortune said it should be you.

This Valentines was first published in a Nursery book written by Gammer Gurton. It is thought to have been published in 1783.

Backyard Biffies

Backyard Biffies

This will be the last book from Dashing Parcels that I will highlight for a few posts.         February is “I Love to Read Month” but Valentine’s Day is also coming.

I know I’ve mentioned “Backyard Biffies” in previous posts, but it bears mentioning again. And not just because my Father-in-law wrote it. It’s funny and well written!! It contains numerous outhouse anecdotes and photographs. Don’t take my word for it…read what the Winnipeg Free Press had to say about it.

Happy Leap Year!

Dashing Parcels DateBook

Leap Year

I was trying to decide what to write about today and discovered that this is a leap year. That means that there are 366 days in 2012. Or, as of today, 358 days remaining. Part of this year is done. Eight days gone. What did I do with my time? How have I spent those eight days? I don’t normally make resolutions for New Year’s but I would like to be more productive. In general and in as many ways as possible.

So, I am going to utilize that extra day this year. Many of us think that there aren’t enough hours in a day and that we never have enough time. What if we all take that extra day and do something magnificent with that time? 24 hours or 1,440 minutes extra this year. If we make every minute count, what will you do with your extra time?

A New Year

Dashing Parcels New Day

“New Year’s Day is observed on January 1, the first day of the year on the modern Gregorian calendar as well as the Julian calendar used in ancient Rome. With most countries using the Gregorian calendar as their main calendar, New Year’s Day is the closest thing to being the world’s only truly global public holiday, often celebrated with fireworks at the stroke of midnight as the New Year starts.”  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year%27s_Day

Many people use this as an opportunity for a fresh start and a time to make New Year’s resolutions. I’m not much for making resolutions but I always hope that the next year will be as good as or better than the previous year.

That’s my hope for all of you. If you had a good year last year; I wish you the same. If your year was lacking in some way; my hope for you is a much better year.

All the best to all of you!
